Doucet named Justice of the Peace for Ward 4

By order of the Supreme Court of the state of Louisiana, Joseph Wayne Doucet, justice of the peace for Acadia Parish, Ward Two, has been named the pro tempore justice of the peace of Acadia Parish, Ward Four.

The order states that Doucet will remain pro tempore justice of the peace through Sept. 30, or until the vacancy is filled, whichever falls sooner.

The order, signed for the court by Justice Jeannette Theriot Knoll and sealed as a true copy by Deputy Clerk of Court Robin A Burras, states as follows:

“Acting under the authority of Article V, Section 5(A) and 22(B), Constitution of 1974, and the inherent power of this Court, and considering that a vacancy exists in the office of Justice of the Peace, Parish of Acadia, Justice of the Peace Ward Four, because of the death of Justice of Peace Elridge J. Pousson on March 10, 2014, and further considering the willingness of Justice of the Peace Joseph Wayne Doucet to accept said appointment,

“IT IS ORDERED THAT:

“Justice of the Peace Joseph Wayne Doucet, Parish of Acadia, Justice of the Peace Ward Two, be and he is hereby appointed as Justice of the Peace pro tempore for the Parish of Acadia, Justice of the Peace Ward Four, effective March 28, 2014 through September 30, 2014, or until the vacancy is filled, whichever occurs sooner, or until further order of this Court, at which time this appointment shall terminate.

“This Order shall not deprive Justice of the Peace Joseph of his office as justice of the peace for the Parish of Acadia, Justice of the Peace Ward Two, or any other court to which he may have been assigned by previous order of this Court.

“Given under our hands and seal this 31st day of March, A. D., 2014, New Orleans, Louisiana.”
