Edwards is focus of panel discussion
The four administrations of former Gov. Edwin Edwards will be the subject of a panel discussion Thursday evening at the historic Rice Theatre.
The event is free and open to the public. A reception will be held at Crowley City Hall at 5:30 p.m. to precede the panel conversation which begins at 6 p.m.
Produced by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, “The Louisiana Governors Project: A Historic Job Description” offer insights into the last 50 years of Louisiana politics through seven public forums being held in the hometowns of the previous seven governors.
The event kicked off in Columbia Sept. 10 and concludes in Baton Rouge Oct. 22, just two days prior to the gubernatorial primary.
Panelists for the Edwards discussion Thursday will include Isabella dela Houssaye, Leo Honeycutt, Raymond Jetson, Ted Jones, Michael Martin and Gus Weill. Billy Broadhurst has also been announced on informational flyers for the event.
Serving as moderator for the event will be Beth Courtney of Louisiana Public Broadcasting.
