Gas Rupture During Rayne Road Work

An unknown gas line was ruptured just after noon on Wednesday while workers were busy preparing the road bed for the re-surfacing of American Legion Drive, part of the continued Zaunbrecher Road and Hwy 90 re-surfacing project in the City of Rayne. The rupture was located near the intersection of American Legion Drive and Live Oak Street. Here, workers backfill the area of the rupture while roads were still blocked off by members of the Rayne Volunteer Fire Department who were called to the situation.
