Icy conditions causing Mardi Gras travel mayhem

The groundhog was right, winter isn't over yet.

With it has come icy roads and mediocre, at best, travel conditions for Mardi Gras morning.

In Acadia, Louisiana State Police Troop I has already closed two roadways: Interstate 10 at milepost 86, near Rayne and U.S. Highway 90 at the Mermentau River Bridge. 

Throughout the rest of Acadiana, Interstate 10 eastbound at Interstate 49 is closed. Authorities are urging motorists to avoid icy areas and stay off the roadways as much as possible.
