Legislative Breakfast set Thursday

Crowley, Rayne chambers co-host pre-session event

In preparation for the 2016 Special and Regular Legislative Sessions, the Crowley Chamber of Commerce and the Rayne Chamber of Commerce will co-host the Annual Legislative Breakfast.
The breakfast is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 4 at 7 a.m., at the LSU AgCenter at 157 Cherokee Drive.
Remarks from area Legislators will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. followed by a question and answer session.
Sen. Jonathon Perry, R-Kaplan; Sen. Dan Morrish, R-Jennings; Rep. Phillip Devillier, R-Eunice; and Rep. Jack Montoucet, D-Crowley, have been invited to speak at the event.
The upcoming regular session is slated to begin March 14 with Gov. John Bel Edwards calling a Special Session set to begin on Feb. 15.
“With so many important issues facing our state, I encourage local business leaders to take advantage of this opportunity to voice their concerns and questions to our legislators,” stated Crowley Chamber President and CEO Amy S. Thibodeaux.
The breakfast is being held at no charge to Chamber members in Acadia Parish courtesy of First National Bank.
