Pitre arrested in attempted second-degree murder in Crowley

The Crowley Police Department has made an arrest in an incident which occurred over the weekend, according to Chief of Police Jimmy Broussard.
The release, issued Wednesday announced one arrest in the stabbing.
The release reads as follows:
Crowley Police responded this past weekend to a report of an attempted second-degree murder on Leslie Amos Street in the City of Crowley.
The victim, identified as one Devin Babineaux, got into an altercation with the suspect around midnight on Aug. 28 at the location. The parties began with a verbal altercation, which escalated at which time the suspect armed himself with a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim twice – once in the right side abdomen and once in the left arm area. The victim was transported to Acadia General Hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening.
The suspect, one Isaiah Pitre, was arrested without incident on one count of attempted second-degree homicide and was transported and booked in the Acadia Parish Sheriff Department on a $50,000 bond.
