Rosary Congress underway

The 27th annual Rosary Congress began on Monday with an Opening by Deacon Dennis Lacroix.
Aside from the Masses, which are held each day until Friday, area Christians are urged to to by Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel any time (the chapel is open 24 hours) to pray the Rosary and for anything else that they so choose.
Ding Hoffpauir, who began the annual prayer week, has been organizing the event since it’s inception and urges all area Christians, to attend the church if even for a short prayer for the people in the world.
“These days there are just so many people who are in need of our prayers, so many tragedies that have been occurring,” said Hoffpauir. “I can’t think of another time when our world has been so in need of prayers.
“It just seems like they’re are so many tragedies happening around the world lately.”
The Masses for the rest of the week will be at 6:30 p.m. through Friday.
The schedule for those conducting the story are as follows:
• Tuesday, Oct. 8, Father Garrett Savoie.
• Wednesday, Oct. 9, Father Clint Trahan.
• Thursday, Oct. 10, Father Kendall Faulk.
• Friday, Oct. 11, Father David Broussard.
Broussard’s Mass, being the final one of the week., will include the:
• The Consecration to Mary;
• Investure of the  Scapular; and
• The Blessing of the Roses
The aforementioned events will be followed by a Holy Mass at 6:30 p.m. The mass will be conducted by David Broussard.
