Sheriff’s office announces June incidents’ arrests

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon has announced several arrests have been made following investigations into unrelated incidents that were reported to the sheriff’s office.
• On June 8, deputies responded to a report of a simple burglary in the 5100 block of the Egan Highway near Egan in which numerous items were taken.
A warrant of arrest was issued for Rolanda Bellard, 30, of Crochet Road in Iota. She was charged with burglary.
• On June 25, deputies responded to an incident in the 300 block of Vanilla Road near Crowley.
Following an investigation into the incident a warrant of arrest was issued for Raylin Richard, 35, of the 800 block of Leger Road in Rayne. He was charged with four counts of violation of a protective order.
• On June 29, Jeremy Brasseaux, 33, of Rayne was arrested and charged with aggravated flight from an officer.
The suspect was observed exiting a residence in the Egan area. Deputies gave foot chase when the suspect fled on foot.
He was placed in the Acadia Parish Jail charged with aggravated flight from an officer.
