Wintery precipitation forcing closures in parish

UPDATE: Redemptorist Catholic has announced it will also be closed Friday.

UPDATE: Notre Dame High and St. Michael schools have announced their schools will be closed Friday.

UPDATE: Rayne Catholic Elementary will be closed Friday.

UPDATE: Northside Christian School in Crowley and Our Mother of Peace Catholic School in Church Point have announced school closures for Friday, Jan. 24.

Add Acadia Parish's public schools and St. Francis School to the list of schools closing Friday in advance of potential wintery precipitation.

Citing road safety concerns the Acadia Parish School Board made the call to close schools Friday mid-morning and St. Francis School in Iota quickly followed suit.

St. Michael, Redemptorist and Notre Dame will make decisions by this afternoon.
