Rayne Chamber to host political forums

The Rayne Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will host two nights of political forums for local candidates on Monday, Oct. 6, and Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Originally, the Chamber had set aside three nights for the candidate forums.
On Monday night, candidates for Rayne mayor, city marshal and alderman-at-large will address the audience in the Civic Center’s ballroom.
On Wednesday night, candidates for Rayne police chief and candidates for the Rayne City Council will present their remarks.
Each evening will open with meet-and-greet session at 5 p.m.
Each forum session will begin at 6 p.m.
No political signs will be permitted in or around the Civic Center or on public property.
Each candidate will be given two minutes to answer each question given to them.
Only blind questions will be used. No questions will be accepted from the audience.
Each candidate will be allowed up to five minutes to answer the final question asked of each and offer closing remarks.
