Rayne Police arrest two Lafayette men in Trent murder investigation

Rayne Police Chief Carroll Stelly announced Wednesday, April 29, the Rayne Police Department had arrested two suspects in the Christopher Trent homicide investigation.
The Lafayette Police Department executed multiple search warrants and arrest warrants on Aaron Lance Joseph Carter, B/M, Dob 12/16/1994, 105 Moss Street, Lafayette, and Kendall John Breaux Jr., B/M, Dob 12/9/1995, 315 Odile Street Lafayette.
Bond on Aaron Lance Joseph Carter was set at $250,000 for second-degree murder principal and bond was set on Kendall John Breaux Jr. at $500,000 for second-degree murder.
Trent, 32, of Jennings who shot multiple times at the Frog City Travel Plaza on North Polk Street shortly before 2 a.m. on Saturday, March 28,
Trent was transported to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, where he died from his wounds at 11:14 a.m. March 28.
According to published reports, Trent was known to investigators as a “major player” in drug trafficking in and around the Jennings area.
