Bayou Chicot’s Andrepont takes down six deer in recent hunting season
The 12-year-old Bayou Chicot native, Morgan Andrepont, dropped six deer over the recent hunting season. It was her first year in a stand by herself.
The daughter of Ronnie and Kim Andrepont had a lot to be proud of when the season came to a close. The youngster hunted with her .243 caliber rifle. Her first deer came on a youth hunt with her paw paw Jimmy Rowles in early October. It was a spike that weighed 135 pounds. Her second deer came on October 25th. She was hunting with her father in Georgetown when she took down a doe that weighed 120 pounds. The two made a trip to Alabama to a hunting club in mid-November. While there, the youngster took her third deer of the season. It was a six-point 135-pound buck. Her fourth deer came from the same hunting club during the Thanksgiving Break. This time, she harvested a doe that tipped the scale at 105 pounds. Her cousin Austin Patin also killed his first deer on the same trip. In early December, Morgan Andrepont took down her fifth deer of the season, but didn’t find the beat until two weeks later. Her sixth and final deer came came just four days before Christmas. She took down a button buck on private land with her paw paw. Some might say she was the beneficiary of beginner’s luck, but she blames it on her passion for hunting.
