Nuptial Mass unites Zaunbrecher and Landry
Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Church was the setting for the 1:30 p.m. January 2 nuptial Mass uniting Cory Lyn Zaunbrecher and Jacob Edward Landry of Lafayette in holy matrimony. Father Joe Breaux officiated at the ceremony.
Cory is the daughter of Gregory and Laura Zaunbrecher of Carencro. She is the granddaughter of James and Helen Zaunbrecher of Crowley and the late Sidney and Sally Broussard of Carencro. She is a graduate of St. Thomas Moore High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration. She is currently employed with Acadiana Computer Systems as a Quality Assurance Administrator.
Jacob is the son of Richard and Daphne Landry of Lafayette. He is the grandson of Francis and Billie Delhomme and Edward and Ruth Landry of Lafayette. He is a graduate of St. Thomas Moore High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He is currently attending Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless, diamond white gown made of taffeta and lace. The neckline was a soft sweetheart with pleates accented by ivory lace appliques. The gown opened to a slim a-line skirt fully embellished with lace applique that flowed to the hemline. The back dropped to a v-design and taffeta covered buttons and crystal clusters cascaded throughout the semi-cathedral train. The bride carried a romantic clutch bouquet of ivory mini calla lily, ivory cymbidium orchids and white dendrobium orchids. Tucked inside the bouquet was a blue crystal butterfly given to her by her godmother representing her maternal grandparents.
Matron of honor was Blanche Zaunbrecher Faulk, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Ali Fontenot, cousin of the bride; Missy Bienvenu, Michelle Dugas, Brittany P. Eskridge, and Ali Purpera, good friends of the bride.
Best man was Joshua George Landry, brother of the groom. Groomsman were Gregory Zaunbrecher, brother of the bride; Damian Delhomme, cousin of the groom; Andre Broussard, Stephen Boudreaux, Trevor Judice, and Mark Risher, good friends of the groom. Ushers were Jedd Faulk, brother-in-law of the bride and Jefferies Tatford, good friend of the groom.
Flower girls were Sydney Grace Faulk, niece of the bride and Piper Leger and Delaney Bourque, cousins of the groom. Ring bearer was Cole Lemoine, cousin of the bride.
Readers were Carolyn Freeland, godmother of the bride, and Desiree Huggis, godmother of the groom.
Gift bearer were Shelley Marr, aunt of the bride and Deidre Montgomery, aunt of the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at River Oaks in Lafayette.
After the honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Shreveport.
