Carlson and Bergeron wed at St. Michael’s Catholic Church
CROWLEY - Christian Sheree Bergeron was married to Tyler Paul Carlson on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 1 p.m. at a nupital mass at St. Michael’s Church, in Crowley. The ceremony was officiated by Fr. Gary Schexnayder.
Christian Bergeron is the daughter of Eric and Roxane Bergeron. She is the granddaughter of Clanes and Rosa Richard of Morse; and the late Lawrence and Carole Bergeron of Basile.
Bergeron is a 2006 graduate of Midland High School and 2010 graduate of McNeese State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. She has recently accepted a full time position with the USDA natural Resources Conservative Service.
Tyler Carlson is the son of Tommy and Leticia Carlson of Mermentau Cove. His grandparents are Dale and Gwen Hanks of Morse; and Lily and the late Allen “Dutch” Carlson of Morse.
Carlson graduated from Midland High School in 2004 and a 2007 graduate of McNeese with a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business and a 2010 graduate of Louisiana State University with a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics. He is currently employed as a Research Assistant with LSU.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her brother, Eric Bergeron, Jr. She wore an ivory fit and flare gown by Allure Bridals. The dress had a strapless bodice embellished with intricate embroidery and crystal detailing. It had a dropped waist accented with asymmetrically ruched taffeta and the back of the gown was v-shaped with crystal button detailing. The headpiece was a single layer ivory bridal veil trimmed with scattered beads and crystals. She carried a lovely bouquet of white roses with little crystal accents interspersed throughout.
In keeping with tradition, the bride’s ring belonged to her grandmother, her beautiful dress was brand-new, her veil was borrowed, and for a touch of blue she had a flower in her hair which matched the color she chose for her bridesmaid’s dresses.
The mother of the bride wore a two piece aqua taffeta sleeveless gown. The bodice was embellished with latte colored sequins and beading. She carried a bouquet of miniature white calla lilies accented with greenery.
The mother of the groom wore a strapless charcoal chiffon a-line gown with a pleated bodice and waist. The bodice was highlighted with a silver beaded applique. She also wore a matching chiffon bolero style jacket.
Her maid of honor was her friend, Tracy Hodge. The bride was attended by Amber Carlson, Joni Smith, Maureen Carlson, and Brittany Romero. The bride’s attendants wore a asymmetrical gowns with one side being strapless and the other shoulder was covered by teal taffeta. The gowns draped neatly down the torso and flared at the bottom. Each attendant carried a mixed bouquet of peach colored roses and gladiolus.
The groom’s best man was his brother, Heath Carlson. His groomsmen were Nick Miller, Randy Smith, Codie Steele, and Andre Thibodeaux.
The wedding ushers were Chris Abshire, cousin of the bride; and Mickey Miller, friend of the groom.
The flower girl was Rianna Carlson, a godchild of the groom; and Raimi Abshire, Godchild of the Bride. The ring bearer was Gabriel Carlson a godchild of the groom.
The musical selections were provided by Darrel Lejeune, vocalist and trumpeter; Becky Leger, pianist; and David Broussard, vocalist.
Scripture readings were performed by Ronnie Hebert and Tracy Guidry and Offertory gifts were performed by Tori Vidrine, Clinton Blanchard, and Chelsie Smith.
The rehearsal dinner for the wedding was on Thursday, June 24, 2010 was held at the home of Lily Carlson in Morse. It was hosted by the parents of the groom, Tommy and Leticia Carlson. The menu included crawfish étouffée, maque choux corn, pocket rolls, salad, and brownies for dessert.
The wedding reception was held at the Gueydan Civic Center. The bride’s round three-tier cake was accented with cascading teal ribbons. It contained Bavarian cream and strawberry fillings. The top of the cake featured a Swarvoski crystal “C” cake topper.
The groom’s cake was a chocolate ganache single layer sheet cake with Oreo filling. It featured a tan Louisiana sportsman design and was surrounded by chocolate covered strawberries.
Guests traveled from throughout Louisiana and Texas to come to celebrate the new union.
The couple plan to reside in Crowley after they return from their honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
