Whitewing concert to benefit RCE

Pee Wee Whitewing and the Heart of Texas Band will be in concert on July 18, at the Rice Theatre in Crowley, to raise money for Rayne Catholic Elementary’s Building and Renovation Fund. The doors open at 5 p.m.; show begins at 6 p.m.

Pee Wee has announced that this show is going to be different from his normal shows. In addition to songs sung by band members Valerie Andrus, Larry Roberd and Lisa Boudreaux, there will be several new faces in the show. For example, Valerie Andrus, who is a well known singer, musician, and music instructor, will showcase three of her students, two who have not previously been on the show before and there will be return of a group that has not been on Pee Wee’s show in a number of years.

A highlight of the show will be the performance of the Rayne Catholic Elementary Choir.

Downstairs tickets are $12 each and balcony tickets $10. Tickets will be sold at The Pink Lily located at 309 East Louisiana Ave. in Rayne. Tickets may be purchased Tuesday thru Friday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Rayne Catholic Elementary’s building and renovation fund is dedicated to building of six new classrooms and renovations throughout the entire school.
