A group of visitors from Welsh, spent time in Roberts Cove Friday, April 15.

This service group, Imperial Calcasieu Cadre, Order of St. Lazarus, was accompanied by Reverend Herbert May, pastor of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church in Welsh.

The group was first welcomed to St. Leo IV Church in Roberts Cove by Heritage Museum volunteers. Josie Thevis was on hand to tell them a little of the history of the church, as well as the addition of the annex to the church in 1995.

At the conclusion of the church tour, Father May led the group in a midmorning prayer asking God’s blessings to follow the example and good works of St. Lazarus.

Their final stop was the German Heritage Museum.

“A History of the Germans of Roberts Cove” was the Power point presentation given to them by Lawrence Cramer and Mary Ann Leonards. They talked about the life and times of the community from its beginning in the 1880s to the present, as well as the annual Roberts Cove Germanfest to be celebrated this year on October 1-2.

After a tour of the museum, refreshments were served.
