Percy J. Guidry

Rayne- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for  Percy  J. Guidry, 71, at Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne Chapel  on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 1:00PM with Rev. Msgr. Russell Harrington as Celebrant.  Visitation  will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 beginning at 10:00AM with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00PM and continue until 10:00PM and will resume on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 8:00AM until  just prior to service time. Interment will follow the service at St. Theresa Church Cemetery in Duson, LA. Mr. Guidry passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at his home in Carencro.
Mr. Guidry was a native of Duson and a longtime resident of Carencro. He worked for Carr Truck Service for 14 years as a Supervisor prior to his retirement in 1986. He enjoyed dancing at La Poussiere  and Liberty Theatre; was a member of the Cajun French Music Organization and also enjoyed  spending time with his family and friends.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Eva Dell Duhon Guidry of Carencro;  children, Delores Menard of Carencro and friend Albert Dogay, Ricky Guidry and friend, Kathy  Forestier  of Mire, Priscella Comeaux and her husband, Cliff of Carencro, Kathy Hyatt and Keith of Starks, Kathleen Guidry and friend Danny Manuel of Scott; sisters, Gussie Duplechain of Duson, Amy Wiltz and her husband Paul of Breaux Bridge and Pearl Foreman of Ridge; nineteen grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Guidry, Randall Menard, Daniel Manuel, Kyle Comeaux, Keith Hyatt and Clifford Comeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be all Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dieu Donna and Edna R. Guidry; grandson, Jesse Menard and son-in-law John Randy Menard.
Special thanks are given to Dr. Michael Cain and his staff at the Cancer Center of Acadiana; St. Joseph  Hospice nurses and the eighth and ninth floor Oncology Staff at Lafayette General Medical Center.
