Scott arrested, charged with attempted first-degree murder

Crowley Police have arrested a resident of Crowley and have charged him with four counts of attempted first-degree murder. The incident occurred at 9:46 a.m. on Jan. 27.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Rhone Village regarding shots being fired. The investigation on scene revealed that an individual drove by the residence and fired multiple shots into the residence which was occupied by four people. The suspect then fled the scene. No one was injured in the shooting.

A short time later, officers located the unoccupied suspect vehicle in Meadows Apartments. The vehicle was then seized as part of a crime scene.

“During the process, our officers identified the suspect and obtained arrest and search warrants involved in this case,” stated Chief KP Gibson. The search warrant yielded evidences from the vehicle to support the investigation.

During the morning hours of Jan. 28, officers secured a residence in the 300 block of West Jeanette Street in Crowley. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

“The cold weather has kept most people inside today, thus we reacted as quickly as possible and were able to get our suspect into custody as well as recover the firearm used in this crime,” stated Gibson.

Arrested was Brenton Scott, 29, of Crowley. Scott was booked on four counts of attempted first-degree murder. Bond has been set at $125,000.
