Reeves halts Warriors playoff run
CROWLEY – Reeves’ Travis Schultz poured in 12 of his game-high 32 points in the fourth quarter Tuesday to lead the Raiders to a 51-46 come-from-behind victory over Northside Christian at Seth Trahan Memorial Gym.
The Class C regional playoff loss ended the season for the Warriors while the Raiders move on to face New Living Word in the quarterfinals Friday.
The No. 7 seeded Warriors jumped out to an early 14-13 lead in the first quarter behind six points each from Nicholas Zaunbrecher and Joseph Trahan.
Ty Wilson got hot in the second quarter and poured in 10 points to help the Warriors extend their advantage to 28-23 at the break.
Scott kept the Raiders in the contest in the first half by scoring eight points in each of the first two quarters.
The Raiders cut into the lead in the third quarter by outscoring the Warriors 10-8 behind four points each from Shultz and Israel Richard.
Tracy Wilridge scored eight of his 10 points in the fourth quarter for the Warriors, but Schultz and the Raiders outscored NCS 18-10 to pull out the victory.
Wilson paced the Warriors with 16 points and Trahan had 10. Zaunbrecher finished with eight.
