Benoit Martin family holds fifth annual reunion

The Benoit Martin family recently gathered for its fifth annual reunion at the Crowley home of Duiby Martin, wife of the late Benoit Martin.

The event, which takes place every year on the first Saturday after Easter, was held on April 26 and included four generations of the Benoit Martin family.

The approximately 65 guests in attendance enjoyed a crawfish boil, plenty of barbecue and cake for dessert.

The family members delighted in reminiscing over old family photos and memorabilia, as well as playing a variety of outdoor games. A giant slip-and-slide was present for the children and the young-at-heart.

The family also celebrated the birthdays of Duiby Martin, who turned 90, and Katry Martin, who turned 60.

Committee members responsible for organizing this year’s reunion were Mona Binion, Katry Martin, Marion Martin, Phil Martin, Wavey Martin, Lindell Perez and Brenda Robert.

Guests at the reunion traveled from Colorado, Texas and numerous points throughout Louisiana.

The family will hold its next reunion on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
