Gossen is graduate, awarded

On May 15, 2014, Hayley Gossen Richard of Rayne was conferred a degree in dental hygiene during the LSU Health Sciences Center 140th Commencement ceremony held at the UNO Arena in New Orleans. 

Hayley was a 2010 honor graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish before attending ULL for two years. She then gained acceptance into the LSU School of Dentistry Dental Hygiene program at their Lafayette location, which entailed  an additional two years of study. 

In a recognition ceremony held in Lafayette on May 7, she was the recipient of The La. Dental Hygienists Association Outstanding Student Award, the Irma Miller Award, the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges Award, and the Golden Scaler Award. 

Hayley is married to Cory Blaise Richard, formerly of Crowley, and is the mother of one child, Brayden Thomas Richard. 

Her parents are Thomas and Nina Gossen, and her grandparents are Roland and Lynell Melancon and Frederick and Annette Gossen, all of Rayne.
