Eual Joseph Cormier
Lyons Point - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 30, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for Eual Joseph Cormier, 92, who died at 6:55 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, in Acadia General Hospital.
Fr. Clint Trahan, pastor, will celebrate the services and the burial will follow in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Rodless Leleux at 6 p.m. Sunday. Visitation may be observed on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Cormier was born Nov. 26, 1921, in Lyons Point, to the late Pierre and Olivie Plaisance Cormier. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country during World War II. He was a rice farmer for all of his life. He and his wife loved to dance and spending time with friends and family talking about the good old days.
He is survived by his sister Dorothy Thibodeaux of Crowley; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Elaine Simon Cormier; six brothers and sisters, Eucharistie Lejeune, Lucia Meaux, Ozey Abshire, Lovenia Guidry, Norris Cormier and Laura Guidry.
Pallbearers will be Karlon Thibodeaux, Burton Thibodeaux, Julian LeBlanc, Lance LeBlanc, Ronald Trahan, and Walter Broussard.
