Rayne all-stars attend national tournaments

Two Rayne all-star teams completed summer action over the weekend at their national tournaments.

The Boy’s Pinto Frog Sox All-Stars participated in their 2014 South Zone Pinto World Series held in Schertz, Texas. They qualified for the tournament by placing second in last week’s Super Regionals held in Youngsville.

During the weekend tournament, the Frog Sox played two games, lossing the first game 18-13 to McAllen and the second game 24-18 to Benbrook in extra innings.

Members of the Frog Sox include Parker Faust, Wayland Jude Meche, Kainon Suiter, John David Dupont, Grant Simon, Anthony Martin, Hudson Hollier, Noah Meche, Brantley Habetz, John Ronkartz, Dylan Judice, Caiden Meche, along with coaches Coy Guidry, Jonathan Habetz, Brian Ronkartz, Randy Judice and Jonathan Hebert.

The Boy’s Bronco Rivals All-Stars traveled to Burleson, Texas over the weekend where they participated in their 2014 South Zone National Tournament. They qualified by placing in their Super Regional also held in Youngsville last week.

During Nationals, the Rivals finished third in their bracket playing three games (15-0, 3-13, 1-7).

Members of the Rivals include Kasen Richard, Lance Martin, Kolby Richard, Tucker Babineaux, William Vice, Jacob Vice, Sebastian Roche, Peyton Marcantel, Tanner Lagrange, and coaches Sean Richard and Benjy Babineaux.

The Rayne Girls Pinto League Gators, the lone girls’ team still in competition, will participate in their Zone National Tournament this week in Youngsville. They qualified for the tournament by capturing top honors during their Regional Tournament also held in Youngsville.
