Joe Joseph II

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata for Joe Joseph II who died Aug. 6, 2014, at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice.

Fr. Bill Ruskoski, associate pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus in Broussard, will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday.

Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Mowata.

Joe was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and barbecuer.  He dearly loved his nieces and nephews. Joe never met a stranger and will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by five sisters, Lenaya Wheeler and husband Raymond of Natchez, Mississippi, Naomi Reed and husband Brent of Iota, Elizabeth Zaunbrecher and husband Phillip of Rayne, Lisa Chaumont and husband Greg of Eunice and Elsie Lane and husband Robert of Iowa; one brother, Matthew Joseph and wife Bridget of Mowata; 17 nieces and nephews, which includes one goddaughter, Kasey Chaumont Andrepont of Eunice; and 11 great-nieces and nephews.

Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Darlene S. Joseph; and his father, Joseph C. Joseph I.
