‘Boogas’ and ‘Boulee’ to perform here Aug. 23
After many years, two of Rayne’s native sons are excited to be coming back to Rayne to entertain area residents.
Bobby “Boogas” Page and V.J. “Boulee” Boulet, along with Swamp Pop Express will appear at the American Legion Post 77 Hall Saturday, Aug. 23, from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Boogas and Boulee formed the popular group, Bobby Page and the Riff-Raffs in the early 50s.
Bobby is known for the hit song written by V.J. called “Loneliness.” He also has recorded other hits throughout the years.
V.J. Boulet recorded “Gratefully” and has written songs for Freddy Fender, Frogman Henry, Rod Bernard, Jim Olivier and many others.
He also has a popular swamp pop radio show on KROF 960 AM every Saturday from 12 noon until 5 p.m.
Members of the band, including Page and Boulet, are in the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
They are looking forward to seeing friends, family and fans on Saturday, Aug. 23.
