Hannah Casselmann Zaunbrecher
It is with the heaviest hearts that the family of Hannah Casselmann Zaunbrecher, 72, of Eunice announces her passing on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, surrounded by her loved ones.
Hannah was born on Sept. 29, 1941, in Eunice, where she spent most of her life. She worked over 50 years in banking and with the Public Service Commission. She was a devoted servant of Christ and a lifelong member of Mowata Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and played the piano and organ. In addition to her love for the Lord, she was an avid gardener and loved to cook and bake for others. She cherished spending time with her family and serving them.
She was survived by two sons, Dwayne Zaunbrecher and wife June, and Douglas Zaunbrecher and wife Marla, all of Mowata; three sisters, Cynthia Sanders and husband Charles of Pineville, Gloria Rockett and husband Keith of Mowata and Arlene Tucker and husband James of Eunice; five grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Kathryn, Hans and Anya, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ludwig and Esther (Bieber) Casselmann.
The family expresses gratitude to Brenda LeJeune for her extraordinary compassion and care of Hannah.
At the request of the family, visitation was held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, Aug. 17, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. On Monday, Aug. 18, visitation was at Mowata Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until time of services at 2 p.m.
Interment was at Mowata Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Glen Howie officiated at the service.
