Agnes H. Simon

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home, LLC, Chapel in Crowley for Ms. Agnes H. Simon, 95, who passed away at Lacombe Nursing Home in Lacombe on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at 8:55 p.m. 

Survivors include one daughter, Jean Sanderson of Waynesboro, Mississippi; two sons, Jesse and wife Gloria Simon of Slidell and Shelton Simon of Slidell; one sister, Hilda Hargrave of Crowley; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Ms. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Vernice P. Simon; one son, Harold Simon; her parents, Alcee and Leontine A. Harrington; two sisters, Ella Mae Daigle and Ida Hebert; four brothers, Ivy, Elza, Lovelace Sr. and Elton Harrington.

Deacon Rodless LeLeux from St. Michael’s Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the Abshire Cemetery in Kaplan.

The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Lacombe Nursing Home in Lacombe. For their dedicated and high level of support during her stay.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Harmony Hospice of Mandeville for the love, care and support that was given to Ms. Simon.

The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. in the evening in the funeral home chapel. Visitation will resume in the funeral home chapel on Monday, Aug. 25, at 8 a.m. until time of services.
