Wedna Louvierre of Crowley celebrates 85 years

Wedna Louvierre of Crowley, seated, celebrated her 85th birthday with a big party held on Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Forest Park Church Hall in Crowley. Louvierre, who is originally from Indian Bayou, was born on Aug. 29, 1929. The party was held at noon, and guests enjoyed a big meal of fried chicken and red beans and rice. Two separate cakes - one lemon and one pineapple upside-down - were served for dessert. Louvierre has nine children and 14 great-grandchildren, and those in attendance included, first row from left, Eli Bourque, Louvierre, Parker Bourque and Aiden Deville; middle row, Wynona Ancelet, Dylan Brooks, Sadie Brooks, Taylor Deville, Kylie Jo Bourque, Anthony Melancon, Brandi Melancon (holding Blake Bourque), Kristen Spell; back row, Mia Brooks, Jamie Brooks, Heather Heidebrink, Kaydence Deville, Desi Bourque, Sara Mouton and Jonathan Janson (holding Joshua Janson). Also present but not pictured was Leah Melancon.
