Dorothy “Dot” Richard Baronet
A Funeral Mass for Dorothy “Dot” Richard Baronet, 94, of Leland, Mississippi, was held on Saturday, Oct. 11, at St. James Catholic Church in Leland.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at her home. Entombment was at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery in Stoneville, Mississippi, under the direction of Boone Funeral Home of Leland.
Mrs. Baronet was born in Church Point, the only daughter of Jules and Delia Richard. In April 1941 she was married to Percy Charles Baronet. They moved to Shaw, Mississippi, in 1950 to farm rice. While her husband worked on the farm, Dot became the consummate homemaker, cooking, cleaning, and sewing to make a home for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother, Ferdie Richard.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat Reed (Rodney) and Ann Freeman (Jim); five grandchildren, Beth Freeman Reynolds (Mike), Scott Reed (Kim), David Freeman (Beth), Spencer Reed (Jennifer), and Hamp Reed (Krystal); nine great grandchildren, and two nephews, Jim Richard of Pineville and Bill Richard of Metarie.
She was a loving Mama, MaMa, and great-grandmother, and she will be missed.
Boone Funeral Home, Inc., 101 N. Broad St., Leland, MS 38756, was in charge of arrangements.
