Jada Young turns three

Jada Ma’Rae Faith Young celebrated her third birthday on Saturday, Oct. 11, with a “Frozen”-themed party held at the Crowley residence of her “yanni.”

She was born on Oct. 17, 2011, to the late Chyna Joy Young and Wilbert Joseph Jr. of Crowley.

For her big day, Jada chose to wear a beautiful “Princess Elsa” costume.

There were approximately 40 guests on hand for the party, travelling from various points throughout Louisiana and as far away as Texas. They enjoyed chili-cheese dogs and nachos, along with traditional birthday cake and ice cream for dessert.

The cake was decorated with pink, light blue and purple icing with a snowflake and Princess Elsa trimmed in hot pink and lavender. There were also “Frozen”-themed cupcakes for the many guests.

There were a variety of activities for Jada and her playmates, including hopscotch, chalk drawing, bubble blowing and other games. Music for the party was the soundtrack from “Frozen.”

Special guests at the party were Jada’s uncles, Sidney Young and Nicholas Deville, and her great-great-aunt Sherrie Handy.

Jada’s maternal grandparents are Sherry Yokum of Crowley, Albert Deville of Crowley and Sidney Young III of Los Angeles, California. Her paternal grandparents are Angela and Joseph Wilbert Sr. of Crowley.

Jada is the godchild of Nicole and Terry Grant of Houston, Texas; Javonna and Sidney Young of Lafayette; and Shirley and Troy Yokum of Crowley.
