Kaitlin Elizabeth Venissat

The family and friends Kaitlin Elizabeth Venissat are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Nov. 21, 2014, at the age of 17. Kaitlin was born in Lafayette to Russel and Rhonda Leger Venissat on May 9, 1997. Kaitlin was a very outgoing and loving person. She was a cheerleader as well as a member of the band at Gueydan High. Kaitlin was also a member of the Beta Club. She also represented Gueydan High School at Girls State. Kaitlin will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

 Kaitlin is survived by her parents, Russel and Rhonda Venissat of Gueydan; two brothers, Rusty and Taylor Venissat of Gueydan; her grandparents, Johnny and Torchy Venissat of Gueydan and Wilda Camel of Lafayette; her special friend, Mason Reed of Gueydan; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Kaitlin was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Kenneth Camel.

Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Glenn Bourque officiating. Burial will follow in the Gueydan Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Monday, Nov. 24, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday at 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral service.
