Helen Marie Menard LeBlanc
A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Marie Menard LeBlanc, 90, of Morse will be held at Immaculate Conception in Morse Saturday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. with Father Clint Trahan officiating.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Friday, Dec. 5, from 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Friday evening. Visitation will resume on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 8 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass. Helen will be laid to rest in Hanks Cemetery.
Helen was born in Estherwood on Dec. 22, 1923, to the late Felician Menard and the late Ellen Breaux Menard. She was called to her heavenly father on Dec. 4, 2014. Helen was a homemaker, who loved caring for her family. She was a native and lifelong resident of Morse as well as a member of the Ladies Altar Society at Immaculate Conception Church. Helen loved to sew, do puzzles and dance. She also loved shopping and eating out. Helen was a kind and loving person she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Leisa Thibodeaux and husband Robert Thibodeaux of Morse; one son, Julian LeBlanc and wife Barbara LeBlanc of Crowley; one sister, Winnie Richard of Morse; one sister-in-law, Rena Menard of Morse; three grandchildren, Judith Kershaw, Jamie Thibodeaux and wife Theresa and Lance LeBlanc; four great-grandchildren, Kristen Breaux and husband Don, Ashlyn Kershaw, Kiley LeBlanc and Cody LeBlanc; one great-great-grandson, Brock Anthony Breaux and one more on the way.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Lee LeBlanc; one son, Andrew James “Jimmy” LeBlanc; her parents, Felician and Ellen Menard; one grandchild, Melissa Thibodeaux; her sisters, Lillian Andrus, Lillie Simon, Delia Spell, Allie Hanks and Lena Mae LeJeune; one brother, Nason Menard; and one brother-in-law, Nelson LeJeune.
Carrying Helen to her final resting place in Hanks Cemetery will be Julian LeBlanc, Lance LeBlanc, Robert Thibodeaux, Bill Humble, Don Breaux and Damian LeJeune.
