Cecilia H. Zaunbrecher
Crowley, LA –– A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Cecilia H. Zaunbrecher, 93, who died December 18, 2014 at Acadia General Hospital.
Fr. Mark Miley, associate pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Rosaries will led by her rosary group at 4 p.m. and by Deacon Dan Didier at 7 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in St. Leo Cemetery.
Mrs. Zaunbrecher was born in Roberts Cove and resided in Crowley. She was very involved in her Catholic Faith as a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, an associate member of Divine Providence, a charter member of The Rosary Group, a member of the Catholic Daughters of Americas Court # 1519 in Iota and a St. Leo Altar Society member in Roberts Cove. Mrs. Zaunbrecher also dedicated her time in her community as a lifetime member of the Pink Ladies, and a faithful member of the Roberts Cove German Fest Association.
She is survived by three sons, Timothy Zaunbrecher and his wife, Judy, Godfrey Zaunbrecher and his wife, Kathy, and Gerard Zaunbrecher and his wife, Marsha; eight grandchildren, Lacie Z. Kuhn and her husband, Mark, Gabriel Zaunbrecher and his wife, Beth, Joshua Zaunbrecher and his wife, Sara, Marissa Z. Buchanan and her husband, Adam, Seth Zaunbrecher and his wife, Laura, Emily Z. Lynch and her husband, Todd, Kendra Z. Richard and her husband, Steven, and Heidi Z. LeLeux and her husband, Jeremy; and fourteen great-grandchildren, Kaden and Gavin Urzendowski, Zander Lynch, Harper Kuhn, Luke, Levi, Anna, Thomas, Jaxon, and Waylon Zaunbrecher, Austin Richard, Lydia and Eva Buchanan, and Jude Leleux.
Mrs. Zaunbrecher is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Zaunbrecher, her daughter, Gwendolyn Zaunbrecher, her parents, J. Wilhelm and Franziska Theunissen Habetz; three sisters, Clara, Hilda, and Sr. Marie Habetz; and six brothers, Pirmin, Msgr. Daniel, Joseph, Anton, Martin, and William Habetz.
Pallbearers will be Gabriel, Joshua, Seth, Mark, Adam, Jeremy, Steven, and Todd.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dewayne Habetz, Andre Fabacher, Gwen Zaunbrecher, Becky Doucet, Janell Bruce, and Yvette Owens.
The family would like to the staff of Southwind Assisted Living and her two caregivers for care and kindness over the past years.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, German Fest Museum, and/or St. Michael’s Catholic School.
