Lauren Whitney Guidry weds Shawn M. Simoneaux
RAYNE - A six o’clock evening Nuptial Mass on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church united in marriage Lauren Whitney Guidry and Shawn Michael Simoneaux, both of Rayne.
The bride is the daughter of David and Tessa Guidry of Rayne. Her grandparents are Roger and Betty Doucet of Rayne and the late John Henry and Mildred Guidry.
Lauren is a 2004 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley, 2012 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and is employed in Lafayette by Beta Land Services, LLC.
The groom is the son of Paul and Kim Simoneaux of Rayne. His grandparents are Jerome and Hilda Simoneaux of Rayne, and the late Irby and Anne Savoy.
Shawn is a 2006 graduate of Rayne High School, 2011 graduate of Petroleum Landman Institute, and is employed in Lafayette by Beta Land Services, LLC.
The double-ring ceremony was celebrated by Rev. Kendal Faulk. Scriptures were recited by Peggy Trahan, godmother of the bride, and Erika McMillan, godmother of the groom.
Gifts were offered by Graci and Logan Alleman, cousins of the bride, and Morgan Alleman, godchild of the bride.
On the arm of her father, the bride wore a stunning design of delicate scalloped lace in a soft ivory created with a demure high neckline and sleeveless bodice. Ruched English net embellished the sweetheart top and contintued into a fit and flare silhouette with lace appliques throughout. The gown was made complete by a dramatic effect of cascading English net from the backline into a cathedral train.
Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day included a religious medal from her grandmother as something old and her wedding dress was something new. A religious medal was borrowed from her grandmother and something blue was the wedding date embroidered in her dress.
Attending the bride as her maid of honor was Courtney Touchet, a friend.
Bridesmaids were Hannah Simoneaux, sister of the groom, and friends Keri Hebert, Brittany Berard and Lauren Sellers.
Serving as flower girl was Aubrey Baronet, cousin of the groom. She was escorted by ring bearer Grayson Doucet, godchild of the bride.
Attended the groom as best man was his cousin, Cody Baronet.
Groomsmen were Cameron Guidry, brother of the bride; Dale Labbie and Tyler Comeaux, friends of the couple; and Jason McMIllan, cousin of the groom.
Ushering guests were Evan Doucet, cousin of the bride, and Brady Baronet, cousin of the groom.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at LaGrande Hall in Crowley for the couple.
Following a wedding trip to Antigua, the couple will reside in Rayne.
Prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner on Friday, Oct. 3, at Fezzo’s Seafood and Steakhouse in Crowley.
