A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Larry James “Big Tobe” LeJeune, 66, who died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at 6:15 p.m. in Iota.
Larry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a retired farmer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Enjoyments of his life included his children and grandchildren along with his Thursday night card group.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Friday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Larry is survived by one daughter, Tracie L. DuBose and husband John of Iota; one son, Scott J. LeJeune and wife Shantel of Iota; four grandchildren, Matt and Peyton DuBose of Iota, Taylor LeJeune of Iota and Courtney LeJeune of Calgary, Canada; and two sisters, Donna LeJeune of Lake Charles and Rita L. Leonards of Eunice.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Sharon Lynn “Ritter” LeJeune; and his parents, Ivy and Laura Dietz LeJeune.
Pallbearers will be Matt DuBose, Daniel Leonards Derek Leonards, Steve Miller, Nolan Miller and Joey Hebert.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Leger, Leonard Roy and Elwood Cormier.
