A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Verna Primeaux Dugas, 67, at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point with Rev. Clint Trahan as celebrant. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will resume at 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, until just prior to service time. Interment will follow the church service at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lyons Point. Mrs. Dugas passed away on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015.
She is survived by her children, Roxanne Dugas Meaux and her husband, Blaine, of Lyons Point, Gwen Dugas Hoffpauir and her husband, Dennis, of Egan, James Daniel Dugas Jr. of Houston, Texas, and Danielle Dugas Jabusch and her husband, Chris, of Egan; grandchildren, Brittney Abshire, Skylar Meaux, Shelbee Hoffpauir, Layton Meaux, Morghan Jabusch, Cammrayn Meaux, Brynn Jabusch, Keaghan Meaux and Ella Jabusch; great-grandchildren, Liam and Eli Abshire; brothers, Larry, Patrick and Thomas Primeaux and one sister, Joanna Primeaux.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel James Dugas; parents, Joseph and Bernice Primeaux; sister, Linda P. James; one nephew, Gilbert James; father-in-law, Adam Dugas and mother-in-law, Jeanne Comeaux.
Pallbearers will be Skylar Meaux, Layton Meaux, Morghan Jabusch, Cammrayn Meaux, Thomas Primeaux and Kemmeth Simon. Honorary pallbearers will be Davey James and Keith Primeaux.
