Bouree tourney winners listed

The Elderberries Senior Group’s Semi- annual bouree tournament was held Saturday, Jan. 31. Upon arriving the participants were welcomed by Director Jeanette Leger.
Introductions to everyone followed by a cup hot coffee before the games began. The participants pulled tiles for the table and chair positions.
After two elimination rounds, a break for a hot lunch of chili with cheese and Fritos was enjoyed. . The sweets baked by Joyce Lyons and Dolores Thibodeaux was also enjoyed by everyone.
After the next three elimination rounds the final participants were asked to count their chips. The three persons with the highest money totals of chips were awarded cash prizes. The following three were awarded white crosses that were being promoted by Right to Life Group of the parish.
The first place winner was Dudley Simon; second place was Darla Bryson and third place winner was Ron Duhon. Fourth place was won by Peggy Trahan while fifth place finisher was Lucille Gautreaux, and Greg Arabie finished in sixth place.
Helpers with the details and duties of the event was contact person Elaine Myers; Mike Guidry setting up the tables and chairs, Helen and Carol Menard, Elaine Miller; Barbara Gossen, Dolores Thibodeaux, LeVerdie Breaux, Sylvia Cahanin, Donald Faulk, Mary Alice Petitjean assisting in serving lunch.
