Les Dames Acadienne learn rose care

The members of Les Dames Acadienne met on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Acadia Parish Library in Crowley.

President Betty Miller called the meeting to order, after which the club collect and Pledge of Allegiance were recited.

The guest speaker was Martha Harmon of Harmon’s Nursery, who gave a presentation on growing roses. 

The  members planned for their May trip to New Iberia, discussing visiting the Bayou Teche Museum, Jefferson Island/Rip Van Winkle Gardens and Shadows on the Teche. 

Plans were finalized for a donation to the American Heart Association, and Janis Coignard provided helpful kitchen hints.

Secret Sister gifts were distributed followed by “Show and Tell.”

The door prize of baked goodies was won by Lois Richard.

Hostesses for the meeting were Bonnie Gaspard, Earline Spell, Dot Guidry and Yvonne Foreman.

The next meeting of Les Dames will be held on March 11 and will feature Robby Barrouse speaking on the Acadia Parish Court Clerk’s office.
