Miss Crowley pageants set for July 25
The Crowley Professional Women’s Club has announced that preparations are under way for the 2015 Miss, Teen and Junior Miss Crowley Pageants.
The pageants are scheduled for Saturday, July 25, at the Grand Opera House. The young ladies vying for the titles of
Miss, Teen and Junior Miss Crowley will begin their competitions at 6 p.m.
Immediately after the crowning of the three new queens, ticketholders may participate in the Queen’s Ball and cocktail reception to be held in Le Grand Hall honoring the outgoing royalty and newly crowned queens. Those in attendance will enjoy catering by Rice Palace Restaurant, a cash bar and a d.j.
Plans are also being finalized for the many exciting events that lead up to the crowning of the lucky young ladies who will be the newest ambassadors of the Rice Capitol of America.
The members of the Crowley Professional Women’s Club would like to extend an invitation for young ladies to participate.
To be eligible to compete for the title of Junior Miss Crowley, young ladies must be between the ages of 12 and 14 on the date of the pageant, and to compete for Teen Miss Crowley, they must be between the ages of 15 and 16 on the date of the pageant. Those who are interested in competing for the title of 79th Miss Crowley must be at least 17 years of age on the date of the pageant and no older than 22 years of age on October 15.
In addition to age requirements, all contestants must have one of the following zip codes at their primary residence: 70526, 70534, 70556, 70559, 70531 or 70543, or their primary residence must be zoned for a Crowley public school.
Those contestants in the Miss Division will also be eligible to compete in the Scholarship Competition, where scholarships may be awarded.
Applications are now available and can be obtained by sending an e-mail to misscrowleypageants@yahoo.com or by calling 223-0440. The applications are to be turned in on Wednesday, July 1, from noon to 4 p.m. at Crowley City Hall. This is the only time that applications for these divisions will be accepted and no contestants will be allowed to enter after that date.
