Afternoon bridal social honors Hannah Simmons

The home of Lannie and Paula Richardson of Lafayette was the setting for a wedding shower held in hoor of Hannah Simmons of Lafayette, bride-elect of Robert-Thomas Johnson of Rayne.
Hannah is the daughter of Eric and Gizell Simmons of Lafayette, while Robert-Thomas is the son of Albert and Bonnie Johnson of Rayne.
The afternoon courtesy was held Saturday, Aug. 8, between the appointed hours of 2-4 p.m.
The spacious den area was dotted with arrangements of roses and daisies for the special event.
The refreshment table held a lovely arrangement of blush noisette and Queen Elizabeth roses, along with Gerber daisies in blush, pink and white.
Refreshments served to the 45 guests in attendance were chicken salad sandwiches, variety of dips, array of brownies, along with fruit and vegetable trays, punch and coffee.
For the special occasion, Hannah wore a white eyelet shift and was presented with a corsage of miniature white roses. The mothers, as well as the grandmothers, were also pinned with a corsage.
Hostesses for the event were Tatty Ortego, Sharon Richardson, Dianne Ross, Pam Smith, Paula Richardson and Beth Frith.
Special guests in attendance were the grandmothers of the couple, Matilda Johnson, Edna Simmons and Beverly O’Quinn.
Hannah and Robert-Thomas will exchange marriage vows on Saturda, Sept. 5, at First Baptist Church in Lafayette, followed by a reception at The Lafayette Event Center.
