Dorothy Sonnier Davis

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Sonnier Davis, 81, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 1 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Brian Wells officiating.
Burial will be in the Maxie Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Funeral home visitation hours on Friday will be from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. and will resume on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
Mrs. Davis died Sept. 29, 2015, at 7:24 p.m. in the Jennings American Legion Hospital.
A native of Abbeville and resident of Jennings since 1976, Mrs. Davis enjoyed cooking, loved to sing and dance and spend time with her family. She was married to her late husband, Ivy Davis, for 58 years.
Mrs. Davis is survived by seven daughters, Ramona Breaux of Jennings, Elizabeth (Dawn) Clemens of Jennings, Beverly Cormier of Gueydan, Janet Smith of Eunice, Deborah Bertrand and Rhonda Bertrand, both of Evangeline, and Bethonie Davis of Jennings; five sons, Ivy Dalton Davis of Columbia, Glenn Keith Davis and Elvin Davis, both of Iota, Robert Charles Davis of Duson and Roderick Davis of Evangeline; a sister, Anna Vincent of Morse; 35 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ivy Davis; her parents, Charles and Inez Boudreaux Sonnier; a daughter, Jenny Nini; a son, John Davis; and one granddaughter, Rachelle Marcantel.
