Henry “Hank” Helo II
Funeral services for Henry “Hank” Helo II, 65, of Rayne will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne. Father Kevin Bordelon will officiate. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery #2 Mausoleum, Rayne.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 12, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Helo passed away due to surgical complications on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at 7:29 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
Born in Orlando, Florida on June 19, 1950, Mr. Helo was a lifetime resident of Acadia Parish. He was raised in Crowley and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and of the University of Southwest Louisiana, where he was a member of the USL Bowling Team and was captain of the USL Billiards Team.
Mr. Helo was a resident of Rayne for the past 36 years and he worked for New York Life Insurance Company, retiring after many years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and served as past president and member of Notre Dame Athletic Board.
Survivors include his wife of over 39 years, Susie LeBlanc Helo of Rayne; daughters, Elizabeth Blake and husband Ryan of Rayne and Amy Albers and husband James of Rayne; son, Henry Helo III and wife, Summer of Crowley; grandchildren, James Blake, Jonathon Blake, Jonah Blake, Jace Blake, Jackson Albers, Amelia Helo and Isla Helo; nieces, Sarah Helo, Dalel Helo and Andrea Helo; nephew, Sahid Helo; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding Mr. Helo in death were his parents, Henry Helo I and Carita Thibodeaux Helo; brother, Kalil Mark Helo; and brother-in-law, Donnie LeBlanc.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Rayne Catholic Elementary School, St. Michael Elementary School, Notre Dame High School and Shriners Hospital for Children, 3100 Samford Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103.
