The Crowley Town Club recently hosted a 5Kolorun in honor of the many area victims of cancer and the families and friends who support them. The event took place on Saturday, Sept. 12, with many spectators on hand to help throw the various colored powders at various stages of the run. The five different colors used represented five different types of cancer. The run culminated with a color pit party where music, photo opportunities and good food were enjoyed by all. The Town Club chose as its partner charity the Louisiana Foundation for Cancer Care, Inc., which is associated with Oncologics in Crowley and provides financial assistance to local families battling cancer. On hand for the presentation of the $3,000 check on behalf of the Crowley Town Club were, from left, Cheryl Broussard, Oncologics financial counselor; Judy Guillot, Town Club board of directors; Dr. Andrew Harwood, Oncologics physician; Dr. Carissa Hamilton-Toups, Town Club Board of Directors and chairman of the event; and Shelly Primeaux, Oncologics therapist.
