Honorees named during bridesmaid luncheon
A bridesmaid’s luncheon honoring the attendants of Hannah Simmons, bride-elect of Robert-Thomas Johnson, was held in the Entertainment Room of Zea Rotisserie and Grill on September 4th at 11:30am.
The mid-day courtesy was given by Hannah’s aunts, Sherry Simmons, Carolyn Simmons and Martye Simmons.
The room held arrangements of blush and white hydrangeas. At each place card a gift of the special occasion was noted. Appetizers served were Asian Almond Shrimp and Mediterranean hummus along with Mimosas. A selection of grilled chicken breast, Pesto crusted Trout or Shrimp Breaux Bridge were served to the 16 guests.
Serving Hannah as Matron of Honor was sister-in-law, Jamie Simmons. Bridesmaids were Helen Hebert, Kirsti Ortego, Lauren Livings and Kaitlyn Trahan, friends of bride and Karris Toups, sister of the groom. Special guests were Hannah’s grandmothers, Beverly O’Quinn and Edna Simmons and Robert-Thomas’ godmother, Brenda Hooper.
After the luncheon, the bridesmaid’s engaged in the Southern tradition of a “ribbon pull” from a triple chocolate chip Bundt cake. Charms of good luck and good fortune were pulled and the meaning were read by each attendant.
Robert-Thomas and Hannah were married on Saturday, Sept. 5, at First Baptist Church in Lafayette.
