Henrietta Theresa Victoria Habetz Gossen

Mowata--A Mass of Christian Burial for Henrietta Theresa Victoria Habetz Gossen, 87, of Roberts Cove will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Mowata. Father Joseph Tran will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Mowata.

Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Guidry, Frank Heikamp, Jr., John Heikamp, David Guidry, Kevin Istre, Gregory Gossen, II, and William Gossen. Her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren have been named a honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 P.M. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 8:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home.

Mrs. Gossen passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 in an Acadia Parish health care facility.

A native of Kerrville, TX, Mrs. Gossen was a longtime resident of Roberts Cove. She was a faithful member of St. Leo IV Catholic Church, where she lived out her faith as a member of Catholic Daughters of America, Ladies Altar Society, and the Rosary Group.

Mrs. Gossen received several awards as a member of the Ladies Home Demonstration Group. She enjoyed doing needlework, gardening, and feeding hummingbirds. Her greatest joy in life was being with and caring for her family.

Survivors include her husband of over sixty-six years, Raymond N. Gossen of Roberts Cove; daughters, Sister Theresa Gossen, CDP of San Antonio, TX, Bevely Gossen Heikamp and husband, Frank, Sr. of Roberts Cove, Yvonne Gossen Guidry of Rayne, Dianne Gossen Istre and husband, Winfred of Rayne, and Donna Gossen Hoffpauir and husband, Greg of Basile; sons, Nicholas A. Gossen and wife, Ann of Rayne, Gregory C. Gossen and wife, Lisa of Rayne, and Byron J. Gossen of Roberts Cove; brother Henry Joseph "Butch" Bollich, Jr. and wife, Cathy Collins Bollich of Ragley; 30 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Gossen in death were her father, Anton Henry Habetz; mother, Theresa Hensgens Habetz Bollich; step-father, Henry Joseph Bollich, Sr.; brothers, James Leonard Habetz, Sr, and Leonard Conrad "L.C" Habetz; granddaughter, Kate Louise Gossen; and son-in-law, Michael John Guidry.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Hospice Compassus, or to your local Alzheimer's Disease Association.
