NAUW plans various charitable donations

The Crowley Branch of the National Association of University Women held its October meeting and Green and White Tea on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Martin Luther King Center in Crowley. The group made plans to visit the Miles Perret Center and make a monetary donation in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as well as to participate in the Acadiana Heart Association Walk in Lafayette on Nov. 7, also giving a monetary donation. Additionally, the members made plans for the induction of new members and installation of officers in November. Prospective new member Debra Broussard was present for the meeting, and Cheryl Lewis, member of the year, was presented gifts. Everyone enjoyed refreshments at the end of the meeting. On hand for the meeting were, seated from left, Betty Gums, Cynthia Winbush, Dr. Ezora Proctor, Cheryl Lewis, Hilda Jones; standing, Jocelyn Potier, Shelda Kelso, Myrtle Cain, Michelle Calloway and Meridian Vallery.
