John Victor “Vic” Raymond Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 2, at the Chapel, Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley at 11 a.m. for John Victor “Vic” Raymond Jr., a resident of Lafayette, who died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015. Graveside burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Father Howard Blessing, shepherd of Holy Cross Church, will officiate the services.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Voorhies Raymond of Lafayette: his sister, Sheilah Raymond Wright of Lafayette; his niece, Christine Wright Brasseaux, her husband, David M. Brasseaux and their five children, of Denham Springs; and brother-in-law, Jan Lawrence Voorhies of Crowley; along with many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John V. Raymond Sr. and Lucille Gresham Raymond of Rayne
Vic was employed for 25 years as a banker and later pursued a career as a CPA with an emphasis in computer software services.
He will always be remembered for his faith, generosity, love, kindness and sense of humor. His spirit of enjoying life to its fullest was an inspiration to all. He will be missed dearly by the many lives he touched. He always embraced the challenges of life with ease and determination.
He thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and travel. Friends and family gatherings were so important to him.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Hunter, Mark Hunter, Scott Hunter, Hank Bourgaux, Stephen Raymond and Jimmy Cunningham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Cooper and Al Dempsey.
A special thanks to his physicians and his medical caretakers, Toni Flugence and Lori Louvierre.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Monday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. until time of service.
