Nelma “Fran” Leckelt

Nelma “Fran” Leckelt passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at the Acadia General Hospital in Crowley with loving family by her side. She was 81.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota. Interment will follow in the Maxie Cemetery with Father Jude Thierry as celebrant.
Fran was loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who always had an open heart and home for everyone and who devoted her life to her family and her faith. She will be missed dearly by everyone who knew and loved her especially her three daughters, Mary Cynthia Clement of Welsh, Elizabeth Claire Doucet and husband Anthony of Mowata and Agnes Lynette Guidry of Iota; and sister, Elaine Chataignier of Iota.
She was a wonderful and loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren, Kristy Doucet, Shannon Leckelt, Kevin Leckelt, Chad Clement, Cherilyn Doucet, Jimmy Randall Jr., Raissa Doucet, Joshua Randall, Misty Perrodin and Burk Leckelt Jr.; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Louis Leckelt; two sons, Joseph Kevin “Manny Boy” Leckelt and Burkman Edward Leckelt; grandson Joseph “Joe” Guidry; parents, Raymond and Pearl LeJeune Andrepont; and two sisters, Cecile Leger and Bonnie Andrepont.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Iota on Monday, Nov. 2, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 8 a.m. until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday.
