Paul Andrew Thibodeaux
Paul Andrew Thibodeaux, fondly called PAT for his initials, was 81 years old when he passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2015, at Camelot Place in Crowley.
Paul was a quiet man who had a passion for antiques. He was a leading textile expert that dealt in antique rugs and rare decorative arts. Paul served in the U.S. Air Force as a flight line mechanic. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. During his life he was a curator at the Smithsonian Institution. He did lectures and volunteer work in social and humanitarian causes. He had a love for animals, especially cats.
He is survived by his sister, Mamie Barouse; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Thibodeaux is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Harry Thibodeaux; his sisters, Irene Pizzo, Lucille T. John and Margaret Tauthill.
There will be a brief memorial service at the chapel at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. with a visitation starting at 1 p.m.
