Morris Thomas

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at St. Joseph Baptist Church in Crowley for Morris Thomas, 97, who died Nov. 14, 2015, at Southwind Nursing Home.
Rev. Matthew Kelso will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Joseph Baptist Church.
Interment will be in West Crowley Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Leola Jack Thomas of Crowley; four daughters, Beatrice T. White of Opelousas, Ruby T. Tezeno of Crowley, Bertha Thomas of Lafayette, and Betty Thomas of Crowley; two sons, Ovilla Thomas of Opelousas and Clifton Thomas of Crowley; granddaughter, Veronica Proleau of Lake Charles; 39 grandchildren; 106 great-grandchildren; 70 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by two daughters, Lourisa T. Gallow; Linda T. Jones; two sons, Elton and Nolton Tomas; his parents, Ovilla and Bellzia Thomas; and two grandsons, Mark A. Tezeno, and Norris Gallow; two great-grandchildren, Delanie Tezeno, and Johnaton Martin; five sisters, Alice T. Joseph, Regina T. Gallow, Dornica T. Doucet, Armance T. Griffin, and Marvina T. Jack; and two brothers, Joseph and Auther Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Starrel White, Jonathon Thomas, Sr., Nolton Thomas Jr., Horatio Thomas, Danny Thomas and Clifton Thomas Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Thomas, Quentron Gallow, James Thomas, Gustavious Tezeno, Norris Gallow, and Paul Drake II.
